Cos they declared themselves to be "an inland tourist resort" simply
to collect parking fees on Sundays.
Yet they don't have a tourist information office, just an "information
point" hidden where few will find it with a single poster and some
adverts in it.
The only "tourist" attraction is a museum run by a local firm with
it's own private car parking for visitors.
Yet most car parks in nearest city 10 miles away are free on Sundays.
They charge more for 2 hours on Sunday £1.60 than for 2 hours on
weekdays £1.40.
They charge 24 hours while many car parks in nearest city are free
8pm-8am.
Robbing because they are using it as taxation (that will please you)
and not offering value for money.
I haven't paid ever. They refund my fee when I use the leisure centre.
Otherwise I use one the very few free spaces. Go on shop me for tax
avoidance.
